FERRARI INTRODUCED THE MOST POWERFUL ROADSTER IN THE WORLD

Continuing to celebrate its 90th anniversary, the Ferrari brand, in addition to two consecutive victories in Formula 1, also declassified the second in two days and an even more ambitious novelty named 812 GTS. The spider, based on the 812 Superfast coupe, was not only Ferrari's first V12 Roadster in 50 years, but also the most powerful open-top car in the lineup.

As expected, Ferrari 812 GTS borrowed the powertrain from the eponymous coupe – a 6.5-liter V12 that develops 800 HP at 8 500 rpm and 718 Nm of torque at 7 000 rpm To 100 km/h Roadster accelerates in less than 3 seconds, 200 km/h gain in 8.3 seconds (0.4 sec slower than the coupé), and its maximum speed is 340 km/h.
The main difference of a novelty from the original coupe was the hard convertible top that is open with servos in 14 seconds at speeds up to 45 km/h. besides Ferrari 812 got a new engine compartment lid with two bumps and a modified rear section with a modified diffuser – all in order to compensate for neiseina aerodynamic losses.

And to minimize the impact of wind on the silence in the cabin, the engineers of the brand provided 812 GTS glass windscreen between the fins (it also received servos) and even slightly changed the aerodynamics of the windshield frame.

After all the innovations Roadster gained weight about 75 kg, but Ferrari said that the increase in weight was compensated by the use of new shock absorbers in the suspension.

In fact, the Ferrari 812 GTS was the first V12 front-engined Roadster in fifty years. The last time a production car of this layout was present in the line of the brand in 1969-it was 365 GTS4, known as the Daytona Spider. Over the years, Ferrari has produced several supercars of a similar design, but these were exclusive projects or cars assembled in extremely small series, like 10 copies of F60 America in 2014.
