HYUNDAI HAS TURNED THE VELOSTER INTO AN ECCENTRIC SPORTS CAR

Strictly speaking, the fate of the sports Veloster already develops: hatchback built not only the "civil" version of the N, but also a few frankly track options (including conceptual). But the electric mid-engine coupe of it has not yet done.

The only electric motor and a complete change of layout list of special features Veloster with index N ETCR is not limited to: it is also rear-wheel drive in contrast to the standard hatch. The European headquarters of Hyundai in Alzenau, where the sports car was developed, claim that its design took about a year.

In Frankfurt, Hyundai demonstrated either a prototype or a model of the future coupe: no technical characteristics are not named, the doors to the salon were not opened. Perhaps this secrecy is due to the fact that really" on wheels " Veloster N ETCR has not yet risen. A full-scale testing program will start only at the end of September, and the company plans to build two finished sports cars only by next year.

Such a long procedure for creating a coupe is understandable. Hyundai Veloster n ETCR is preparing for the start of a new racing series ETCR, which will be launched under the auspices of the FIA in 2020 (by the way, the prototype Cupra e-Racer built with the same goals).

The idea of the touring series will be an attempt to prove to racing fans that the competition of electric cars can be no less interesting than the races of gasoline cars.

The project is Veloster N ETCR main engineering office in Namyang, may be planning to adapt for the development of some new electric vehicles – but this time for public roads.
