NEW TRANSFER CASE AND OTHER TRANSMISSION GAS SHOWED SOBOL 4X4

GAS is presented into the cargo cabin of Komtrans, OOO four-wheel drive minibus Sobol Business 4WD with so many overdue improvements that many people would have bought it directly from the booth! Alas, will have to wait: while this is only a concept of the updated model, designed to gather reactions to potential buyers.

Last year's sensational concepts new Next 4WD Sobol "GAZ Group" is not copied to the archive, but in terms of new sanctions is clearly put aside until better times. At the "COMTRANS" they were not, but the GAS brought the option of upgrading the present and no longer young, Sobol Business, which comes up from 2010.

The solution is generally logical: it is now cheaper, easier and faster to update than to run a completely new model. Moreover, in unofficial conversations gazowy admitted to us that it is not entirely clear how the new Sobol Next 4WD will take fans to travel on the roads - will not deter their independent front suspension?

The concept updated Sobol 4x4 pasted side and rear Windows - and the same "face" as the prototype of a new GAZelle NN. Front and rear lighting-on LEDs. Mud tires Cordiant Off-Road dimension 225/75 R16.

What the exhibition concept updated Sobol Business 4WD, it is a point of change begins with the rapids. No, the inner panels of the doors with pile coating are still the same. However, on the front windshield and in the opening of the Luggage door has already screwed the handrails to make it easier to get into the car. A trifle that should be introduced long ago.

There are no airbags on the concept, but the steering wheel is already configured not only for the angle, but also for departure.

But most importantly, the floor is no longer growing "Bush" levers of transmission! Sobolevskaya "mechanics" with a lever in the floor replaced by a 5-step box from GAZelle Next. And it's not just the cable shift with the joystick lever on the torpedo. More importantly, Kiselevskaja box holding torque up to 330 Nm, whereas Sobolevskaya - only 270 Nm.

The instrument cluster is new.The transfer case is controlled by two buttons on the panel. The right - button back mikolasko lock company Eaton. The concept received more comfortable front and rear seats from the current GAZelle Next.

Accordingly, the current Sable Cummins diesel ISF2,8 gives a maximum of 120 BHP and 270 Nm, but at the exhibition the van he already boosted to 140 HP and 320 Nm, which will give more dynamics to the city and traction off-road. Diesel himself on the concept with a larger air filter and a more efficient radiator. The claimed maximum speed of the concept is 130 km / h, as with a conventional Sable.

Spare "moved" from the trunk to the rear overhang, simultaneously introducing powerful towing eyelets.Because of the transfer of the spare tire had to redraw and exhaust: it is displayed in front of the left rear wheel. If you fold back the rear of the separate sofa and to spread out side of the shop (put them between the crossmember where put back), you get a huge bed for four.

Another important and long-awaited samoletami innovation - the new reinforced transfer box. As told us gazovtsy, the distributor Electromechanical control, the original aluminum body, planetary gear, other gears - and the ability to keep a minimum of 400 Nm of torque from the engine.

In the new distributor, power take-off on the front axle drive still goes through the gears. A quieter multi-link chain Morse decided not to use-too expensive. Moreover, over time from off-road loads the chain is stretched and requires replacement. At last year's concepts Sobol Next servo shift transfer case was from a Korean company Daedong Movel System. These visually, too, on them similar.

In this case, the gear ratio of the reduced transmission in the distributor increased from the current 1.86 to 2.82. Together with the more hardy manual transmission that means that this all-wheel-drive Sable is easy to "pull" heavy mud tires without any strain for the motor (especially EvoTech 2,7 gasoline) and implications for transmission. Logically, with more "traction" razdatkoy forward and reinforced driveshafts with stronger axle shafts.

Exhibition Sobol Business also got a new front axle, which was shown last year on the concepts of Sobol Next. There are other steering knuckles, and instead of universal joints on the axle shafts are CV joints already. On the same decision earlier already transferred the updated UAZ "Patriot" and a new generation of Jeep Wrangler. Hence, the introduction of it on the Gas too soon.

CV joints increase the angles of rotation of the wheels, reduces transmission noise and smoother transfer torque at large angles of work - will be less vibration and wheel bearings will live longer. But those who drive off the road, know that on difficult off-road (especially in the woods) there is always a risk to tear the anthers of the Shrus and not immediately notice it.

But the new distributor still has the status of a prototype, and the Gazans call an approximate period of two years for its debugging and production. The question of creating a "two-PED" version of the Sable is also considered. Hydro-mechanical machine of the same type of Punch 6L50 - the options are attractive, and similar automatic transmission consumers have long been asking for. But an import unit is expensive and risky under sanctions. Therefore, as an alternative, the head of Gas Vadim Sorokin allows the introduction of Sable... "robot" in Russia, which had earlier promised a new GAZelle NN! But if the road version is still acceptable, the AMT on a four-wheel drive car already raises many questions and doubts.

However, the specifics can only wait. The timing of the introduction of all the updates on Sable GAS is not called when the factory will examine the views of the public. Well, the state of the economy and the market is also of key importance: if another crisis or recession strikes, it will definitely not be up to "robots"...
