The Smart brand, which is in the process of fully converting its line to electricity, simultaneously carried out its small restyling. Two hatchback and convertible received a more striking appearance and more intelligent and user-friendly electronics.
Smart Fortwo EQ (hatch and open version) and the Smart Forfour EQ got a new front bumper with a developed "grille", and each model has its own configuration. The bumper received vertical slits at the edges, the head optics became more modern (including additional elements on the bumper), and the rear lights are made of numerous LEDs with a diamond pattern.
The main change in the interior is an advanced multimedia system with an intuitive interface and the possibility of" seamless " integration of smartphones. For gadgets developed a special application that allows you to track the battery and other characteristics, as well as unlock the door locks and thus "share" the car with friends.
In addition, the cabin has an updated center console with increased space for small things and glasses: two coffee cups in the niche can be placed with a removable holder.
But the power plant remained the same, the sample of 2016. 82-horsepower electric motor (160 Nm) and 17.6-kilowatt battery provide hatchbacks power reserve up to 160 km, and charge the batteries from 10 to 80% with the charger will be about 40 minutes.
At the same time, such "Smart" is quite slow: acceleration to 100 km/h will take 12.7 seconds.
Now the brand belongs to a joint venture organized by Daimler and Geely, and the upgrade of the power plant, apparently, will take place only with the change of generations. And it will not happen until 2022.
