On the eve of the main event of the year in the industry-the international automobile show in Frankfurt and against the background of a kaleidoscope tied to it, the Prime Minister did not hit the face in the dirt and celebrated the 90th anniversary of the famous Ferrari brand, presenting the F8 Spider model. Being the successor of the 488 Spider, the novelty differs from it for the better due to the design of the body and engine.
Design hard convertible top has already become traditional for the company, and its characteristics coincide with the data on the folding roof more powerful model 812 GTS – the complete elimination of the roof takes 14 seconds, and this can be done at speeds up to 45 km/h Hiding panels top under a similar cover. And, as in the case of the 812 GTS, the Italians had to thoroughly revise the aerodynamics of the rear.
By the way, the last parameter F8 Spider, according to official data, 10% superior to its predecessor – Ferrari 488 Spider. In addition, it was 20 kg lighter (dry weight-1400 kg) due to the more active use of composite materials in the design. Finally, the engine of the novelty is 50 HP more powerful: it is the same 3.9-liter turbocharged V8 that is installed on the coupe version of the F8.
The engine develops 720 HP and 770 Nm of torque, works together with a 7-speed robot and accelerates the Roadster to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds – this figure is comparable to the achievements of the coupe, but the set of 200 km/h in new items will take 8.2 seconds, which is 0.4 seconds slower. The maximum speed is 340 km/h.
The list of electronic assistants the spider came in for the most part the same systems that are used at F8 Tributo, but claimed, for example, that assistant Ferrari Dynamic Enhancer (FDE+) was re-recalibrated under the requirements of the spider. This system is responsible for maintaining individual pressure in each of the four brake circuits. Among other things, the F8 Spider was equipped with a Side Sleep Control function, which helps the driver to cope with the supercar in the situation of side slides.
Applications for the spider are already being accepted, but live machines are not expected until next year.
