PORSCHE HAS UNVEILED ITS "KILLER" TESLA

The premiere of the first ever Porsche serial electric car was very pathos-simultaneously on three continents. Taycan the super-sedan turned out to be impressively fast, it is highly technologically advanced and, oddly enough, not so expensive.

It is claimed that Taycan opens a new era in the development of the brand: it has become a completely new product for Porsche in a number of areas, while remaining a classic representative of the line. The four-door is built on a new platform with integrated battery packs in the floor panels, which allowed to place the center of gravity even lower than the Porsche 911.

By the way, Taycan – the world's first serial electric car with a network voltage of 800 volts (usually used voltage from 400 to 480 volts). This has significantly reduced the battery charging time: the minimum time that will be required to replenish the energy reserve by 80% is within half an hour. At the same time on fully "charged" batteries Taycan can drive up to 450 km.
The sedan was somewhat more compact Porsche Panamera, but it has two trunks – 366-liter compartment in the back and 81-liter box under the "hood". With a completely new interior architecture (made with the classic patterns) Taycan became the first "Porsche" with almost no physical buttons: the vast majority of functions focused on touch interfaces. In total, The taycan has five screens: a dashboard, a Central monitor and a touch panel on the tunnel are standard equipment, and additional screens for front and rear passengers are installed for a surcharge. In addition, the sedan was equipped with an advanced voice assistant.

Porsche Taycan presented in two versions, which retained the "gasoline" name Turbo and Turbo S and received a twin-engine powerplant. Each motor has its own transmission, but on the rear axle it is two-stage: the first gear provides dynamic acceleration, the second is made more "long".

In both cases, the motors are nominally developing 625 HP, but both "Taikang" are equipped with a function overboost. When activated, it Taycan Turbo gets 680 HP, and Taycan Turbo S – 761 from HP that allows you to gain the first 100 km/h in 3.2 and 2.8, respectively. The maximum speed of both sedans is fixed at around 260 km/h.

An additional difference Turbo S steel full-control chassis and carbon-ceramic brakes, while both versions are already equipped with air suspension with active stabilizers and chassis control system in real time.

In addition, the sedan was equipped with an advanced system of kinetic energy recovery, which allows up to 90% of braking to perform without actually using the brake system. Another caveat – the five modes of drive electronics, Normal, Range, Sport, Sport+ and a customizable Individual.


Acceptance of orders for Porsche Taycan has already started, and the Russian market is not among the Laggards. At the same time, if you compare the cost of the Taycan with the most powerful 680-horsepower version of the Porsche Panamera, the electric car is somewhat more affordable. Version Turbo valued in our country in 10 643 000 for the Turbo S will have to pay at least 12 943 000. The first deliveries are expected in the middle of next year.
